About this site
The Hyde wreck lies in the Atlantic well offshore of the North Carolina barrier islands, out past the Outer Banks in waters that fall roughly in line with Hyde County on the mainland coast along Pamlico Sound. It rests on a wreck bottom at a maximum depth of around 25.9 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported barracuda, grouper, snapper, and even tiger sharks around the site, making it worth a careful watch on the way down as well as around the structure itself.
