About this site
Île d'Or is a small island off Saint-Raphaël on the Var coast of the French Riviera, near the mouth of the Argens river and the Corniche de l'Estérel. The island is recognisable from shore by the stone tower built on it in the early twentieth century, and the surrounding waters sit within the red volcanic rock formations typical of the Estérel massif. Dive boats operating out of Saint-Raphaël and nearby Agay use this stretch of coast for its rocky reefs and calanque-like terrain.
