About this site

Illa Pedrosa sits off the coast near Torroella de Montgri in Girona province, part of the Costa Brava within Catalonia. This stretch of coastline lies close to the Montgri massif and the Medes Islands marine reserve, an area known for its rocky shoreline and small offshore islets. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 18 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers here have reported cratena slugs and leopard sea slugs among the rocks, along with Mediterranean rainbow wrasse moving over the reef. Mediterranean red coral, red sea stars, and violescent sea-whips have also been noted along the terrain, giving the site a colourful, encrusted character typical of this part of the Catalan coast.
