About this site
Isla Guadalupe is a volcanic island off the Pacific coast of Baja California, Mexico, roughly 240 kilometers offshore, best known as one of the world's premier destinations for cage diving with great white sharks. The island's steep drop-offs and clear open water attract great whites seasonally, typically from late summer into early winter, and most trips are run from liveaboard vessels out of Ensenada. Diving here is centered on surface or submersible cage encounters rather than open reef exploration, given the presence of large sharks in the water. Divers visiting the island have reported great white sharks as the main draw of the site.
