About this site
Isuela lies along the Portofino promontory on the Ligurian coast, within the Portofino Marine Protected Area in the Metropolitan City of Genoa. This stretch of coastline is characterized by steep rocky shores dropping into the Tyrrhenian Sea, with dive operators typically based in Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, or Camogli. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 54 metres and is rated technical. Divers have reported dentex and mackerel around the site, along with Mediterranean damselfish, and the rock faces here have also been noted to carry Mediterranean red coral, sunset cup coral, violescent sea-whip, yellow cluster anemone, and both yellow and white gorgonian.
