The Jamison wreck lies off Amherst Island in eastern Lake Ontario, near the mouth of the St. Lawrence River in the Kingston basin, an area reached by ferry from Millhaven near Kingston. This stretch of the lake is known for its scattered freshwater shipwrecks, well preserved by the cold fresh water.
