About this site
Jaula I lies off Cayo Coco, one of the barrier islands along Cuba's northern coast within the Jardines del Rey archipelago, facing the shallow waters of the Bahía de los Perros and the broader Old Bahama Channel approach. Dive operators based on Cayo Coco and neighboring Cayo Guillermo run trips out to the reef systems fringing these cays. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres, and divers have reported grouper and snapper on the reef here.
