About this site
Jiudun Tianchuang (九顿天窗) is a karst sinkhole group in Daxing township, Du'an county, a small pool of a few hundred square metres at the surface that opens into a flooded shaft system explored to well over 200 m, the deepest known cave dive in China. Shallow levels offer weed, fish and shrimp, a sand area used for training and a half-cavern; below that it is deep technical cave diving. Visibility is 5–15 m, water 19 °C, and it is dived all year except the summer rainy season and after heavy rain.
