About this site
Kalpitiya Ridge lies off the Kalpitiya peninsula in Sri Lanka's North Western Province, a stretch of coast facing the Gulf of Mannar known for its lagoon system and reef patches offshore. The area is more commonly associated with kitesurfing and dolphin watching boat trips than with a well documented dive site scene. The ridge reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres, and divers have reported grouper and Napoleon wrasse patrolling the reef here.
