Katherine's Reef sits in the Bismarck Sea off New Britain, known for vibrant coral gardens and steep drop-offs. Schools of barracuda and trevally patrol the blue, while reef sharks cruise the edges. The site offers strong currents, making it ideal for drift diving. Soft corals and sea fans thrive here, attracting macro life like nudibranchs and pygmy seahorses. Visibility often exceeds 30 meters, with water temperatures around 28°C. Best suited for intermediate to advanced divers due to occasional surge.
