About this site
Kiawah Reef sits off the South Carolina coast near Kiawah Island, part of the artificial reef program built up in the waters off the state's Lowcountry shoreline. The site centers on a 260 foot deck barge deployed to create structure on what is otherwise open sandy bottom typical of this stretch of the Atlantic. It has a maximum depth of about 9.1 metres and is considered a beginner level dive.
