About this site
Kuda Kandu is a channel, or kandu, in North Male Atoll in the Kaafu Atoll region of the Maldives, connecting the inner lagoon to the open ocean and reached by boat from the resorts and dive centers scattered across North Male. The site has a maximum depth of around 15 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Channels in this part of the atoll are shaped by tidal flow moving between lagoon and ocean, which is part of what draws divers to sites like this one. Divers have also reported Indian dascyllus among the reef fish here.
