Ile de Groix lies off the southern coast of Brittany, near Lorient, in a stretch of water known for granite reefs and strong Atlantic tidal currents. La Basse du Grogon is one of the submerged rocky basses scattered around the island that local dive operators run trips to from Lorient or Port-Tudy.
