About this site
San Pietro Island sits off the southwestern coast of Sardinia, within the province of Carbonia-Iglesias, and is separated from the mainland of Sardinia by the Sant'Antioco channel. The island's coastline is largely volcanic rock, with cliffs and coves cut into basalt formations along its western and southern edges. La Borrona is a stretch of this coast reached by boat from the port town of Carloforte.
