About this site
La Pointe lies along the coast of Moorea in the Society Islands, part of French Polynesia in the South Pacific. Moorea's shoreline is fringed by a barrier reef with passes cutting through it, and dive sites around the island are typically reached by short boat rides from operators based near Cook's Bay or Opunohu Bay. The site is a cave dive, and divers here have reported blue-black urchins, Hawaiian convict surgeonfish, Indo-Pacific rock-boring urchins, leopard sea cucumbers, orangestripe triggerfish, sixbar wrasse, and small giant clams among the life on the reef around it.
