About this site
Labas Island is a small islet off Tioman Island in Pahang, Malaysia, within the Tioman marine park, and dive sites here are typically reached by boat from operators based on the main island. The reef tops out at around 15 metres and is rated a beginner dive, with generally good visibility over a reef bottom. Ghost pipefish, mandarinfish, and nudibranchs are regularly found here, and divers have also reported angelfish, barracuda, damselfish, eagle rays, frogfish, fusiliers, leaf scorpionfish, leopard sharks, mantis shrimp, mimic octopus, parrotfish, seahorses, and even thresher sharks around the site. Some divers have noted strong currents at Labas as well, worth keeping in mind despite the otherwise easy grading.
