About this site
Lagoa Misteriosa is a flooded sinkhole in a 75 m deep doline near Jardim, reached by a 185-step stairway to a deck at the water. Recreational dives go to 8 m (discovery), 18 m (Open Water) or 30 m (Advanced); the cave itself continues to about 220 m. Exceptionally clear water over two blue abysses, vertical rock walls, fallen trunks and white sand deposits; the clearest 'blue season' runs roughly April to August.
