About this site
Lagon De Belle Mare sits off Belle Mare on the east coast of Mauritius, an area marked by a fringing lagoon and an offshore reef break facing the Indian Ocean. Dive sites along this stretch are typically reached by short boat trips from the beachfront resorts in the area. It is a beginner dive to a maximum depth of around 18 metres, and barracuda are a regular sight over the reef. Divers have also reported damselfish, eagle rays, fusiliers, hammerhead sharks, lionfish, humphead wrasse, nudibranchs, octopus, parrotfish, scorpionfish, snapper, surgeonfish, and trevally here.
