Laguna de Apoyo is a volcanic crater lake in southwestern Nicaragua, formed by an eruption and now filled with fresh water rather than sea water, sitting between the cities of Granada and Masaya. Diving here reaches a maximum depth of around 25 metres and is considered suitable for beginners. The lake's crater setting makes it distinct from Nicaragua's coastal dive sites, offering a freshwater environment inside a collapsed volcanic caldera.
