Lake Ouachita

Lake Ouachita is a large reservoir in the Ouachita Mountains of west-central Arkansas, formed by the damming of the Ouachita River near Hot Springs. It is known locally as a freshwater diving destination, with clear spring-fed water and submerged timber and rock formations from the valley that was flooded when the lake was created. Diving here is rated intermediate, and divers have also flagged high altitude as a factor to plan around given the lake's elevation in the mountains.
