About this site
Lankayan is a small island in the Sulu Sea off the north coast of Sabah, Malaysia, part of the Sugud Islands Marine Conservation Area. It sits well offshore, reached by boat from the Sandakan area on Borneo's northeastern coast. The site here reaches a maximum depth of around 18 metres and is rated a beginner dive, with deep water noted as a hazard nearby. Divers have also reported hammerhead sharks passing through the area.
