About this site
Le Catalina lies in the waters off Faʻaʻā, on the island of Tahiti in French Polynesia, near Papeʻete on the island's northwestern coast, along the fringing reef and lagoon system that faces the channel between Tahiti and its barrier reef. The wreck sits at a maximum depth of around 21 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported lionfish and triggerfish around the site, and some have noted titan triggerfish becoming aggressive, so it is worth keeping a respectful distance from any guarding a nest.
