About this site
Les Iles is a stretch of small islands and gravel ponds along the Rhone valley near Sion, in the canton of Valais. These former gravel pit lakes sit in the flat valley floor between the river and the surrounding mountainside vineyards, and the area is used for recreational and leisure activities close to the town. As a dive site it reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated a beginner site.
