About this site
Lo Scoglietto is a dive site off the island of Elba, notable for a cave environment that descends to a maximum depth of 40 metres. The site takes its name from the rocky outcrop it surrounds, and it lies in the same general area as Capo Enfola.
The terrain centres on cave topography reaching 40 m at its deepest point, making it a site with genuine vertical and structural relief rather than a simple reef slope.
Marine life at Lo Scoglietto is varied and can be encountered in good numbers: dentex (dentici) are reported in notable concentrations, along with nudibranches, lobsters, groupers, forkbeards, bonitos, small tunas, and sunfish. Barracuda have been observed in schools of several dozen individuals, sometimes visible from the surface before a dive even begins.
