Lost City lies in the Seychelles' Inner Islands, in the granite belt around La Digue and the surrounding banks of the western Indian Ocean. Dive sites in this part of the archipelago are typically reached by boat from the nearby islands and are shaped by the large granite boulder formations characteristic of the region. Divers at this site have also reported whales passing through the area.
