About this site
Vis Island lies off the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, in the Adriatic Sea, part of Split-Dalmatia County. It is one of the more remote inhabited Croatian islands, historically closed to foreign visitors during its use as a military base, and its surrounding waters are now known for numerous dive sites explored by boat from the towns of Vis and Komiža. The wreck of Lovac lies in these waters at a maximum depth of around 80 metres, rated technical.
