Luna Kirk lies off the eastern side of the Shetland Islands, in the cold North Atlantic and North Sea waters north of mainland Scotland, an area of exposed voes and rocky skerries typical of Shetland's diving grounds. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres.
