About this site
Lushan Xihai (庐山西海), the Zhelin Reservoir in northern Jiangxi, holds a Kangxi-era town drowned at about 27.6 m, with a main street more than 200 m long and 5–6 m wide. The lake has a strong thermocline, dropping from 30 °C at the surface to around 10 °C at depth, with about 10 m visibility, so it is dived in a 7 mm suit or drysuit at Advanced level.
