About this site
Green Island sits off the southeastern coast of Taiwan, in the Pacific waters of Taitung County, and is known generally for its volcanic rock formations and coral growth. Ma Ao Reef is one of several named reef sites around the island's coastline, reached by boat from the harbor towns there, and is rated a beginner dive. Divers here have reported clownfish, lionfish, manta rays, mantis shrimp, and nudibranchs on the reef.
