About this site
Aitutaki is one of the Cook Islands, a triangular atoll in the South Pacific known for its lagoon and the reef passages around it. Manaia Pinnacles lies along the outer reef or passage areas near this atoll, in waters typically reached by boat from the main island. Divers here have reported a range of invertebrate life on the pinnacle formations, including blue Linckia sea stars, blue-black urchins, greenfish sea cucumbers, Indo-Pacific rock-boring urchins, lollyfish sea cucumbers, small giant clams, and surf redfish.
