About this site
Manta Bowl lies off Ticao Island in the Ticao Pass, a channel between Luzon and Masbate in the Philippines, over a reef that drops to around 200 metres. Divers have reported manta rays visiting the area, along with strong currents running through the pass, though the site is rated a beginner dive overall. Dive operators typically run trips out from Ticao or nearby Donsol, and the site's reputation rests on the chance of manta encounters rather than on reef scenery alone. Sightings are seasonal and not guaranteed on any given day, but the plankton-rich water moving through the strait is what keeps the mantas coming back.
