About this site
Mark's Treasure lies in the Teluk Umar area near Goni, in Nabire Regency on the northern coast of Papua, within Cenderawasih Bay, one of Indonesia's largest marine protected areas. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Goni and the surrounding bay are known more broadly for whale sharks gathering near local fishing platforms and for remote reef systems facing the Pacific, giving the site a wider regional context even where its own marine life is not separately documented.
