About this site
Mbwangawa lies along the coast of Kaskazini-Unguja region, on the northern part of Unguja island in Zanzibar, Tanzania, facing the Indian Ocean and typically reached by small boat from nearby coastal villages. The site sits over a reef bottom with a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported clownfish, garden eels, moray eels, pufferfish, scorpionfish, sea turtles, and stingrays among the reef life here.
