About this site
Misali Island sits off the west coast of Pemba, part of the Zanzibar archipelago in Tanzania, within a marine conservation area established to protect the reefs surrounding the small island. Dive and snorkel sites here are reached by boat from Pemba, with the island itself uninhabited and managed as a protected area. The reef around Misali is a beginner dive to around 18 metres with great visibility, sitting over a reef bottom. Divers have reported bannerfish, crocodilefish, grouper, napoleon wrasse, nudibranchs, parrotfish, scorpionfish, and snapper here.
