About this site
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is a historical wreck dive in the Kalami area of Souda Bay, Chania, Crete, and one of the more compelling wreck dives in the area. It is rated advanced.
The site lies outside the bay and is unprotected, so conditions can be challenging. Water temperature ranges from 16 to 27°C through the year. The wreck draws groupers, lionfish and small reef fish, with large pelagic fish passing, and it is overgrown with sponges and aquatic vegetation. Fireworms also live here.
