About this site
Mie is a wall dive off Halmahera Island, the largest of the Maluku group in eastern Indonesia, in a stretch of coastline broken up by bays and smaller offshore islands within the Coral Triangle. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 35 metres and is rated an intermediate dive, typically reached by small boat from one of the local coastal settlements. Divers have reported mackerel, manta rays, sweetlips, and wobbegong sharks along the wall, and sea snakes have also been spotted here.
