Mike's Point

Mike's Point sits off Gam Island in the Raja Ampat archipelago, in the strait between Gam and Waigeo in West Papua, Indonesia. This part of Raja Ampat is known for limestone karst topography above and below the waterline, with steep walls and swim-throughs around the small rocky islets, and the site is reached by boat from dive operations based around Waigeo and the Dampier Strait region. It is a reef dive to around 30 metres, rated advanced, with strong current and generally good visibility. Divers have reported currents that intensify around full and new moon and at high tide, so timing the dive with tide and moon phase matters here. Along the reef divers have also reported ghost pipefish, seahorses, nudibranchs, scorpionfish, sweetlips, wobbegongs, and passing mackerel.
