About this site
Milford Sound offers dramatic underwater scenery with sheer cliffs plunging into deep, dark waters. Black coral trees thrive here, some over 300 years old, alongside rare species like the red coral. Strong currents bring nutrient-rich waters, attracting dolphins, seals, and occasional penguins. Visibility varies but rewards divers with unique fjord ecosystems. Freshwater layer from rainfall creates surreal light effects. Best dived in calm conditions due to unpredictable weather.
