About this site
Mitiliano's Cave lies along the coast of the Metropolitan City of Naples in Campania, on the stretch of Tyrrhenian shoreline near the Sorrentine peninsula that is shaped by the volcanic geology surrounding the Bay of Naples. As a cave site it draws divers into the rocky formations typical of this coast rather than open reef. Divers here have reported mauve stinger jellyfish drifting past the entrance, along with star coral, sunset cup coral, violescent sea-whip, yellow cluster anemone, and both yellow and white gorgonians decorating the rock walls inside and around the cave.
