About this site
Mokuho'oniki Rock is a small islet off the eastern end of Molokai, near Halawa Valley, in the channel waters between Molokai and Maui. It sits in an area exposed to open ocean swell and currents typical of the Hawaiian island channels. Divers have reported a range of reef fish around the rock, including arc-eye hawkfish, blackfin chromis, dusky surgeonfish, Hawaiian hogfish, manybar goatfish, orangeblotch surgeonfish, Pacific orange-spine unicornfish, and saddle wrasse, along with the Hawaiian spotted toby and green sea turtles.
