About this site
Mushroom Forest lies off the coast of Rarotonga, the main island of the Cook Islands in the South Pacific, along a wall section of the fringing reef that surrounds much of the island. The formations that give the site its name are mushroom-shaped coral or rock structures rising along this stretch of reef. It reaches a maximum depth of around 24 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have also reported eagle rays passing through the site.
