About this site
The MV Lulu sits in the northern Gulf of Mexico off the Alabama coast, in the area near Orange Beach, part of a series of artificial reef sites developed offshore of Alabama. It is a former US Navy vessel sunk deliberately to create habitat and a dive attraction, part of a broader program of tug and ship reef deployments in this stretch of the Gulf. The coordinates place it well offshore in open Gulf waters reached by boat from the Alabama or Florida panhandle coast.
