About this site
Nyali Reef lies off Nyali Beach, north of Mombasa Old Town on Kenya's Indian Ocean coast, within the general area protected by Mombasa Marine National Park and Reserve. The fringing reef here runs parallel to the shoreline and is typically accessed by boat from the Nyali beach hotels. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 50 metres and is rated technical, putting its deeper sections well beyond the shallow fringing reef most visitors picture. Divers have also reported manta rays passing through the area.
