About this site
Oslob is a coastal town on the southern tip of Cebu island in the Visayas region of the Philippines, facing the Bohol Strait. It has become known for shallow-water encounters with whale sharks, drawn close to shore by local fishermen who provide supplemental feeding from small outrigger boats. The interaction takes place in shallow water off the beach of Barangay Tan-awan, with snorkelers and divers entering from boats just offshore. The site sits at a maximum depth of around 4 metres and is rated a beginner dive, making it accessible to those with little underwater experience.
