About this site
Owhiro Bay sits on the south coast of Wellington, New Zealand, where the city meets Cook Strait at the point it opens into the Tasman Sea. The bay is exposed to swell coming through the strait and is bordered by the rocky coastline leading toward Sinclair Head. The reef here tops out at around 16 metres and is rated an advanced dive, a reflection of the exposed conditions this stretch of coast is known for.
