About this site
The Paguro is a wreck site off Marina di Ravenna in the northern Adriatic, formed from the remains of a gas drilling platform that exploded and sank in 1965. The site sits at a maximum depth of around 16 metres and is rated a beginner dive, with its collapsed structure now colonized by sponges, gorgonians, and a range of Adriatic fish. It is one of the better known dive sites in this part of the Adriatic precisely because hard bottom and structure are otherwise scarce along this sandy stretch of coastline, drawing divers from along the Emilia-Romagna coast.
