About this site
Pauwela Point sits along the north shore of Maui, near Haiku above Paia, facing the open channel waters of the Pacific. This stretch of coastline is exposed to north swells and trade winds, and access points along it tend to be rugged, rocky shoreline rather than sandy beach. The dive site reaches a maximum depth of around 15.2 metres, with a bottom of cauliflower coral, hump coral, rice coral, and spreading rice coral. Divers have reported green sea turtles, saddle wrasse, dusky surgeonfish, and goldring surgeonfish here.
