About this site
Penguin Island sits at the southern end of the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, off Rockingham on the coast south of Perth, Western Australia. It is best known above water for its little penguin colony, and the surrounding waters are part of a marine park that draws snorkellers and divers to the limestone reefs and channels around the island group. The dive site itself is very shallow, with a maximum depth of around 0.3 metres, and is rated a beginner spot, making it more of a snorkel-depth exploration of the shallows than a deeper dive.
