About this site
The Pillars of Hercules sit near English Harbour on the south coast of Antigua, close to Shirley Heights and Freeman's Bay. The formation takes its name from the eroded volcanic rock pillars that rise along this section of coastline, both above and below the waterline. Underwater, the site tops out around 15 metres and is rated a beginner dive, making it approachable for divers of most levels. Eagle rays have been spotted here as well, gliding past the rock formations that give the site its name.
