About this site
Point Sal sits on the Santa Barbara County coast of California, a rugged headland along the Pacific between Guadalupe and Vandenberg Space Force Base. This stretch of shoreline is exposed to open ocean swell and is known for its remoteness, with limited road access via Point Sal Road. Divers have reported a whale shark passing through these waters, though sightings of such a species this far north along the California coast would be unusual.
